SATREPSマダガスカルプロの現地中間評価ワークショップ開催および現地圃場視察

SATREPSマダガスカルプロ課題2「養分の吸収利用に優れた育種素材の開発」に参画するマティアス主任研究員が、現地中間評価ワークショップの開催と現地圃場視察のため、12月初旬から中旬にかけてマダガスカルに出張しました。以下、成果の概要となります。

The SATREPS project “FyVary” had the mid-term evaluation meeting and an evaluation team from JST/Japan traveled to Madagascar to visit project facilities and field sites. I accompanied this evaluation team and introduced the local breeding team of output 2, as well as output 2 activities and field sites. A mid-term evaluation workshop was held in which I gave an overview of output 2 activities and achievements, whereas our local counterpart presented their specific research questions and outputs.  In addition, we visited 4 of our field sites and evaluated early seedling development soon after transplanting. Planning meetings with local counterparts were held to develop a detailed experimental plan with regard to the sampling and phenotyping schedule, as well as the choice of breeding lines and donors to be crossed.
