Business Trip to Madagascar (Sep.): Ryosuke Ozaki, Researcher, JIRCAS
Dr. Ryosuke Ozaki, a Researcher at JIRCAS and a member of SATREPS VaryAla Project (Output 3), traveled to Madagascar in September to observe the intervention experiment and prepare for the household survey.
During this business trip, the baseline survey and farmer training sessions were observed to assess the implementation status of the intervention experiment. Based on these observations, discussions were held with local stakeholders on measures to address low participation rates in farmer training in certain communes.
In addition, meetings were held with representatives of the National Office of Nutrition, a partner institution, regarding the plans for the upcoming household and market surveys. The markets in the proposed survey areas were also visited to collect information for refining the survey design.
Furthermore, to facilitate the smooth implementation of future project activities, preparations were made to set up a workspace within the National Center for Applied Research and Rural Development.
