Business Trip to Madagascar (September): Sakiko Shiratori, Senior Researcher, JIRCAS

Dr. Sakiko Shiratori, Senior Researcher at JIRCAS and a member of SATREPS VaryAla Project (Output 3), traveled to Madagascar in September to prepare for upcoming field surveys.

During the trip, Dr. Shiratori worked with representatives of the National Nutrition Office (ONN), a partner institution, to submit an application for ethical review. She also held discussions on survey methodologies, schedules, and implementation arrangements. In addition, she visited the Ambatolampy market, where she interviewed market vendors and conducted interviews with the commune chief. She also visited the project office, the office of the JICA Technical Cooperation Project (FyVary2), and the National Center for Applied Research on Rural Development (FOFIFA) to exchange information and pay courtesy visits.
