Registration of a Heat Tolerant Snap Bean Variety in Japan

Description

[Synopsis]

Ishigaki 1 was bred and registered as a new variety by the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries. It is a heat tolerant variety during pod setting. Critical temperature for pod setting of Ishigaki 1 ranges from 28.0 to 29.5℃ (mean day air temperature). The variety is adapted to the climatic conditions prevailing in the subtropical island of Japan called Nansei-shoto.
