In situ hybridization to detect bovine cytokine mRNAs in protozoan disease

Description

[Synopsis]

Cytokines are a family of low molecular weight protein regulatory molecules involved in inflammation and immunity. They play an important role in the immune system to control cell growth and differentiation of immune‐competent cells. An in situ hybridization protocol using non‐radioactively labeled RNA probes was established to detect bovine cytokine mRNAs (TNF-α, IFN-γ, IL-2, IL-4, IL-6, IL-10 and IL-12p35) on cytospin preparations.
