The JIRCAS Southeast Asia Liaison Office, established in 1972 at the Department of Agriculture (DOA) in Bangkok, Thailand, is celebrating its 50th anniversary. With the COVID-19 travel restrictions finally lifted earlier this year, the Liaison Office is taking the opportunity to organize a commemorative networking event to honor the fruitful collaboration with its distinguished research and development partners over the past half century. In the morning session, JIRCAS scientists and their Thai counterparts will jointly present the results of their collaborative research efforts in agriculture, forestry and fisheries. The afternoon session will feature presentations on the JIRCAS Green Asia Project, the FAO Science and Innovation Strategy for the Asia-Monsoon Region, and the ASEAN Regional Guidelines for Sustainable Agriculture, and will provide a forum to discuss potential areas of future collaboration with regional partners in Southeast Asia.
