In 2021, Japan launched Strategy “MeaDRI” which aims to enhance agricultural productivity potential and sustainability through innovation as a new approach for sustainable food systems. In line with this strategy, JIRCAS was assigned to coordinate the activities to strengthening network among various stakeholders and to accelerate innovations in the Asia-Monsoon region through dissemination of information, and joint research activities. Here, we introduce the outlines of the Strategy, Green Asia project, as well as key innovations.
