成果の概要

We aim to evaluate the field performance of rice breeding lines developed at JIRCAS, and a set of GWAS panel (obtained from IRRI), in farmer’s field in three different rice producing areas of Madagascar. Therefore, I have traveled to Madagascar from 2018 March 21 to April 26, to coordinate and perform the harvest of on-going SATREPS research experiments for the 2017-2018 cropping season. Together with our project counterparts (C/Ps), we have visited the experiment sites, and made the necessary arrangements to harvest the mature materials. In general, most of the breeding lines were ready for harvest since they are early-maturing types. Phenotypic and yield-related parameters were directly taken in the field, and several plant samples were taken to obtain their dry matter. On the other hand, the GWAS panel require a continuous harvest as genotypes get mature differently due to its genetic diversity (300 accessions). In addition, we have visited the greenhouse allocated to our Project to finalize our proposal design to renovate the greenhouse according to our Project aims. The proposal was submitted for further deliberation within our Project.
