This plant is slightly hard to the touch, its cells are 60-100 µm long and 50-70 µm in diameter with 20-30 nuclei. This species is similar to Chaetomorpha sp.1 however the large-sized cells are irregularly bent in a boomerang shape in a consecutive series. The plant grows in subtidal zones along shorelines with calm to moderate water movement.
