The first Joint Coordination Committee (JCC) meeting was held on April 25th
On April 25, 2025, the First Joint Coordinating Committee (JCC) meeting of the RiceGX-SATREPS Project was held at the Royal University of Agriculture, Phnom Penh. The meeting reviewed the progress of joint research activities conducted in 2024 and approved the 2025 annual work plans. Representatives from RUA(Royal University of Agriculture), ITC(Institute of Technology of Cambodia), JIRCAS(Japan International Research Center for Agricultural Sciences), TUA(Tokyo University of Agriculture), MAFF(Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries), MOWRAM(Ministry of Water Resources and Meteorology), MOE(Ministry of Environment), Pursat PDAFF(Provincial Department of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries), PDWRAM(Provincial Department of Water Resources and Meteorology), Embassy of Japan and JICA(Japan International Cooperation Agency) reaffirmed their commitment.
It has been officially announced that the Project Leader has been changed from Dr. Izumi Taro to Dr. Watanabe Mamoru.
The project, implemented in Pursat Province, aims to introduce intermittent irrigation and promote carbon credit schemes to benefit farmers.
