Statistical procedure for the assessment of the association between multiple DNA markers and phenotypic records

Description

[Synopsis]

A procedure foe the assessment of the associations between DNA markers and phenotypic records was developed. Remarkable increase of selection accuracy was found by restricting t he number of DNA markers to the top 30 in the order of magnitude. These findings that DNA markers for small effects tend to add noise to the estimation and that the procedure using selected DNA markers for large effects enhances the accuracy of selection.
