Ecology and control of the albizzia borer, Xystrocera festiva
Description
[Synopsis]
The stem borer of albizzia and acacia, Xystrocera festiva, commonly occurred on leguminous trees in villages, and invaded adjacent areas afforested with albizzia or acacia, while the dispersal was rather slow. The female laid eggs in the injured part of the stem, and required six to eight month to complete one generation. Based on these characteristics, practical methods of control were proposed.
