New Cucumber Varieties for Summer Season in Sub- tropical China

[Synopsis]

Cucumber breeding for high yield and good quality in sub- tropical China has been carried out within the framework of the collaborative research program between JIRCAS and Guangdong Academy of Agricultural Sciences, in order to meet the increasing demand for summer vegetables in this area. Three new F1 varieties were developed which display high yield potential, good quality, heat tolerance and disease resistance, compared to local cultivars.
