World Mango Production

The main production area is India, the birthplace of mangoes.

FAO statistical data (http://www.fao.org/faostat/en/#home) lists the world's production of mango, mangosteen and guavas together, so it is not possible to get a detailed picture of mango production only. However, the annual world production of mango is estimated to be about 43 million tons (mt).

In terms of production by region, South Asia and Southeast Asia account for about 48% and 16% of the world's mango production, respectively, and are still important fruit trees in and around their places of origin, followed by Africa at 13% and Latin America at 12%.

By country, India ranks first with about 18mt (about 41% of the world's annual production), followed by China with about 4.5mt, and Thailand with about 3.1mt.
