This species is composed of a small, calcified stipe with 2 mm diameter caps. The cap consists of 9-11 radially arranged sporangial rays that are club-shaped, and end in a terminal point, and are not coherent with each other. This species is found on rocks in lower intertidal to subtidal zones along moderately wave exposed shorelines.
