The plants are flat, thin, soft and attain 15-20 cm in height. The color is light brown, and whitish brown in some parts due to slight calcification. The cross section of the blade shows that it is 2 cells thick all through the blade. The sorus is not covered by indusium. The plants grow on rocks, gravel or dead coral in mid intertidal to subtidal zones along moderately wave exposed shorelines.
