This species is strongly calcified, pinkish in color and ramiform. The branches are cylindrical and dichotomous. The apical portions are slightly calcified and bifurcate, cylindrical with an obtuse or stubby, barrel-shaped tip. The plants are found on rocks in lower intertidal zones along shorelines with moderate wave activity.
