This species is heavily calcified, pinkish in color and ramiform. The branches are cylindrical and dichotomous. The apical portions are slightly calcified as the rest of the plant, and are bifurcate, cylindrical, downward curving, and have an obtuse tip. The plants are found on rocks or gravel in lower intertidal zones along calm to moderately wave exposed shorelines.
