The plants are erect and grow to about 10 cm tall. The stoloniforous branches at the basal portions become entangled with each other. The erect branches are cylindrical and paniculatedly branched. The apices of ultimate branchlets are truncated. The plants are slightly cartilaginous. The main branches and branchlets are semi-transparent to light green, and ultimate branchlets are light pink. It is found on rocks in subtidal zones along shorelines exposed to moderate water movement.
