The main branches are terete, irregularly divided and taper gradually toward the apices. The branchlets are thin, terete, and bifurcate. The apical portions are acute but not constricted at the basal parts. It forms loose tufts on rocks, gravel and shells or drifts in lower intertidal zones along calm shorelines.
