The leaves are oval to elliptical, and every 14-15 veins are given off toward the right and left margins from the longitudinal vein. Also many leaves rise from the rhizome together, forming a pair of leaves. The plants are found in muddy substrates in subtidal zones and also in deeper places along shorelines with calm water movement.
