Lower portions of this algae spread over the substrates, but upper portions are slightly erect. The branches are strap-shaped, dichotomously divided, up to 5 mm wide, with entire margins and round tips. The color is greenish brown with concentric lines when it is under water. The plants grow on rocks and gravel in subtidal zones along the shoreline with water movement.
