This plant has feather-like erect branches, and the branchlets are cylindrical and up-curved, with sharpened tips. The base of the branchlets are not constricted. The plants are found on rocks, gravel and sandy surfaces in subtidal zones along shorelines with calm to moderate water movement such as reef flats.
