Seaweeds, when not discarded, provide shelter and a habitat for various species of zoo-benthos such as clams and snails in our newly developing co-culture ponds. It is well known that benthos have water purification functions in natural environments. In addition to this, benthos serve as supplementary food for shrimp in the co-culture ponds.
