Enzyme activity of early maturing sugarcane stalks with high sugar content

Description

[Synopsis]

NiF4, an early maturing variety with a high sugar content, shows a high Brix-value even in the growing season compared to F172. Acid invertase activity, a negative factor for sugar accumulation, of NiF4 is relatively higher than in F172. Sucrose phosphate synthase activity, a positive factor for sugar accumulation, of NiF4 is higher than in F172. This enzyme activity increases in both the maturing season and under low temperature conditions with Brix increment.
