On the outside wall of Ishigaki Elementary School, there are pictures painted by graduates. Among them is a picture of people of many nations smiling and holding their hands together.
By promoting scientific research on agriculture, forestry, and fisheries in cooperation with countries around the world, the Japan International Research Center for Agricultural Sciences (JIRCAS) aims to contribute to the prosperity and stability of the international community as well as to protect the food security of Japan.
