Upstream of the Hegina-zeki weir is what looks like a small lake. The water supplied to the fields and paddy fields in JIRCAS Tropical Agriculture Research Front is pumped from this area. Hegina-zeki weir supplies water to surrounding agricultural fields and also has a water channel to Ishigaki Dam.
