Mangrove plants, mainly Yaeya-mangrove (Rhizophora stylosa) and Black Mangrove (Bruguiera gymnorhiza), form a unique landscape along the many intricating tributaries of the Fukido-gawa River (designated as a natural monument). The area is designated by the Ministry of the Environment as one of the most important marine and coastal areas in terms of biodiversity.
