Zarma name: feeji daani
A weedy or ruderal grass found in moderately moist places.
Uses: Fodder (young plant), packing material (see Notes)
Notes: The hairy ears are locally used to fill gaps of granary walls and prevent rats from entering. S. pumila is a variable species distributing over the world. For West African plants, the name S. pallide-fusca had long been used.
