Ingredients
Mature star gooseberry: Phyllanthus acidus (Ma-yom). Salt, lime solution.
Fish normally used:
Fermentation: 3 days.

Method
Wash the mature fruits and soak them in lime solution for 2-3 hours. Wash and drain the fruits and put them in an earthen jar. Add about 10-15% (w/v) of brine until it covers the fruit. Close the jar and leave the fruit to ferment under shade for 3 days.
Consumption
Eat as a snack by dipping in a mixture of sugar, salt and a little chopped chilli.
