Closing Remarks
Thank you. I would like to make a short address at the end of this symposium. First of all, I would like to express
our deep thanks to all participants for making an earnest and fruitful discussion. As you may know, the main
keyword of this symposium is “resilience.” Through the discussion from yesterday to this afternoon, I could have
knowledge that the word resilience has many meanings. It means sustainability and countermeasure methods and
risk security, resistant power and so many others.
I also realized again the importance of diversified approaches for the establishment of sustainable food production
systems to mitigate risks. I think in order to establish a resilient agriculture, it would be strongly necessary to
establish resilient research collaboration. I do not know exactly whether “resilient” is suitable or not. However, I
would like to say that continuous research collaboration has many risks, so we have to overcome those risks and
continue to establish the resilient agriculture. It seems very important. It would be very happy that this symposium
becomes an effective opportunity to develop resilient research collaboration for the future.
Thank you so much. Thank you for very nice discussions. I would like to say thank you again to all of the
participants. Sayonara.
