On July 3, 2020, a paper entitled "Increasing trends in regional heat waves" was published in Nature Communications, focusing on the impacts of prolonged periods of excessive heat on human health, agriculture, workplace productivity, wildfire frequency and intensity, and public infrastructure. Also, on July 6, 2020, the National Geographic magazine published an article on the outbreaks of wildfires which causes a heat wave that melts the Siberian tundra raising alarms among ecologists and climate scientists.
