Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) delegates conduct special seminar at JIRCAS

On 20 December 2017, officials from the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) conducted a special seminar at the JIRCAS International Conference Room, and exchanged views with JIRCAS executives and researchers regarding the implementation and related scientific activities of a joint research project being planned by JIRCAS and ICAR.

On 20 December 2017, officials from the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) conducted a special seminar at the JIRCAS International Conference Room, and exchanged views with JIRCAS executives and researchers regarding the implementation and related scientific activities of a joint research project being planned by JIRCAS and ICAR. The joint research project aims to develop agricultural technologies for mitigation and adaptation against the global problem of salinization particularly in Central and South Asia, and will be carried out in collaboration with the Central Soil Salinity Research Institute (CSSRI)and the Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI), which are both under ICAR.

The visitors were composed of Dr. Suresh Kumar Chaudhari, assistant director general of ICAR; Dr. Tejbir Singh, technical officer of ICAR; Dr. Parbodh Chander Sharma, director of CSSRI; and Dr. Ashok Kumar Singh, director of IARI. During the seminar, Dr. Chaudhari introduced the ICAR organization and its wide range of activities as overall coordinator of Indian agricultural research, whereas Dr. Sharma and Dr. A. K. Singh presented the mission, activities, and achievements of CSSRI and IARI, respectively.
